Smeg UK to cycle to Paris to raise money for chosen charity

Every year Smeg UK select a charity to support. This year they have chosen Action Medical Research and have decided to take on a great group challenge to engage all the bike loving staff of Smeg UK. For years Smeg UK has encouraged its staff to join the cycle to work scheme and 9 members of the Smeg biking community have decided to take on Action Medical Research’s London to Paris ride this September.

This grueling 261 mile ride was be staged over 4 days, starting in Blackheath, London on Wednesday 10th September and finished along the Champs Elysees to the arches of the Eiffel Tower on Saturday 13th September.

Action Medical Research are a children’s charity which was founded in 1952. During this time they have funded a number of life changing research projects for some of the U.K’s sickest babies and children. With the help of 1000’s of supporters they have played a significant role in many medical breakthroughs, starting with the development of the first polio vaccine in the UK as well as methods to prevent spina bifida, testing the rubella vaccine and creating the Matrix Seating System to help support physically disabled children as they grow.
